Fishing Trip to Pomme de Terre Lake
The New Alabama B.A.S.S. Champion!!!
Following two days of fishing on Lewis Smith Lake, Jasper, AL, Lee Byrd of Birmingham Bass Club was crowned the Alabama BASS Federation State Champion. Byrd had a two day total of 23.21 pounds. Lee was fishing from a Gator Boat and was the first to win the championship in a jet boat.
Thanks for helping me get my driveline going again. I got right back into it and won the next 3 Connecticut River tournaments in a row, and got lunker in each. Two were in New Hampshire, one was in Massachusetts. All were opens with 20-30 boats. Below is a link to the Bubba Bassin' trail that we just took one in. I fished that with the son of the head writer for Bassmaster Magazine. He was very impressed with the boat and the fish it got us to. Even in the Northern Bass Supply tournament that the boat broke, we ended up in 5th place with lunker and won $750. That was with only half of a day fishing before the drive shaft and pump shaft had it out. Since owning this boat I have won 21 open tournaments and had many other top finishes. I won a lot before, but it is easier now, often times I don't even need to pre-fish. That helps save a lot of $ and I get to spend more time with my family.
Lee Byrd finished 2nd at the April 15th quilifing tournament on Neely Henry. Lee's five fish topped the scales at 15.90 pounds.
In September, Lee Byrd finished in 2nd place at the Alabama BASS Federation Nation State Championship at Lake Eufaula to qualifiy for the 2007 State Team for the 2nd year in a row.

Team Gator Fishing!
I got this in "jet boat land" on the Connecticut River in a section I was never able to get to with a conventional boat. We also got two 4's and several 3's on a day we were just going out to "test the boat".
We had over 18 pounds for five smallmouth on the CT River! Other teams had jet boats, but the Gator allowed us to win the drag race to the motherload. We had the tournament already won by the time the other jet boats made it upriver. After 56 tournament wins, this boat has more than paid for itself. See the results in the link below.
